Tyre Recycling Additive
Interface activation modifier
Compatibiliser (modifier, e.g. TP-60) is used to enhance the solubility among polymeric materials of very different properties, e.g. different polarity (e.g. ground rubber, PP, PET-G and Epoxy). After treating with compatibiliser, the physical and mechanical properties of the end product can not be improved but will be among those of the involved polymeric materials (e.g. PP, PET-G and Epoxy).
UNION-TP60
Product Introduction
-
UNION-TP60 is soluable with a plenty amounts of plastic materials such as ground rubber, PE, PP, POE, SEBS, TPU, PC, PBT, PET, TPEE, PA6, PA66, ABS, PS, PVC... etc.
-
On the basis of the excellent solubility with the aforementioned plastic materials, Union-TP60 is very suitable as a compatibiliser for heterogeneous plastic alloys such as TPU/PE、TPU/SEBS、Ether TPU/Ester TPU、PA6/TPU、PA6/SE...etc. The problem of phase separation of most commercially-used plasitc alloys can be solved by the addition of UNION TP-60.
Instruction
-
The appropriate dosage of UNION TP-60 as a plastic compatibiliser usually ranges between 5 to 10% (w/W). We strongly recommend to work with the dosage of 5% (w/w) at the beginning.
-
The softening point of UNION-TP60 is around 80~100℃. Thus, please make sure that the temperature of the inclined tube below the pouring basin must be set below 60℃, while adding UNION TP-60 during plastic alloying process. This may help to avoid agglomeration of raw materials, which consequently hinder the feeding.
-
It is recommended to use UNION TP-60 in combination with UNION 1500 series. Such combination will make compounding of heterogeneous plastic alloy smoother and, in parallel, elevate the physical and mechanical performance of the alloy.
Real cases as examples
SEBS/TPU:
-
Adding TPU in order to improve the scratch resistance and mechanical strength of SEBS: Only when more than 50% (w/w) of TPU was added, a positive correlation between the improvement of SEBS scratch resistance and mechanical strength and TPU dosage could be observed.
PE/TPU:
-
Improving the flexibility and mechanical strength of PE by adding TPU: As a result, the addition of TPU must exceed 40% (w/w) to observe remarkable improviement of the flexibility and mechanical strength (positively correlated with the TPU dosage of TPU.
Ether TPU/ Ester TPU Alloy:
Hardness and mechanical performance: increased in proportion ranged between Ether TPU and Ester TPU
-
Processability: Significant improvement in processing performance is biased towards Ester TPU
-
Resistance to hydrolysis: ranged between Ether TPU and Ester TPU
-
Resistance to yellowing: slightly worse than Ether TPU or Ester TPU.
