Flame Retardant Sheet
YC-SG Series
â
Introduction
â
1. Mineral insulation cable based flame retardant mechanism.
2. The minimum sheet thickness: 0.3 mm
3. Poor tensile and tear resistance.
4. Self-adhesiveness: it can adhere to almost all kinds of materials.
5. Excellent thermal insulation properties: The temperature measured behind of a 0.5 mm thick YC-SG flame retardant sheet can 670~770°C lower than the source of fire (pls see Figure below). 6. Excellent fire protection effect: The wood material protected by 0.5 mm thick YC-SG flame retardant sheet will only be carbonised but not catch a fire.
â
â
Fire Protection Mechanism
â
When the temperature reaches above 150°C, the YC-SG begins to expand the volume due to the foaming reaction, consequently forming a thermal insulation layer to hinder the transfer of heat. Since the YC-SG contains a glassy component, the foamed shell layer will be softened at the temperature above 800 ~ 900°C and thereafter becomes deformable due to its volume expansion when heated. Thus, the heat insulation layer is possible to be held without collapsing.

YC-NH Series
â
Introduction
â
1. Mineral insulation cable based flame retardant mechanism.
2. The minimum sheet thickness: 0.1 mm
3. Tensile and tear resistance: Excellent
4. Self-adhesiveness: No
5. Excellent thermal insulation properties: The temperature measured behind of a 0.5 mm thick YC-NH flame retardant sheet can 500~600°C lower than the source of fire (pls see Figure below) 6. Can be used in combination with YC-SG series

Fire Protection Mechanism
â
When the temperature reaches above 150°C, the YC-NH will undergo volume expansion caused by foaming reaction volume, forming a rigid heat insulation layer to hinder heat transmission. Because of the rigid heat insulation layer, when the temperature is above 800 ~ 900 â, the heat insulation layer will rupture. Consequently, the flame may penetrate the object to be protected and get ignited.
