Precautions for mixing thermopowder with RTV or LSR silicone
1. Mix the thermochromic pigment with one of reagents A and B first. It is usually recommended to mix with the one that does not contain the bridging agent. 2. Recommended mixing procedure for hand-made samples: first pour the thermochromic pigment into a mortar → Pour a small amount of silicone, either silicone reagent A or reagent B and then start to grind gently. Each time a small amount of silicone reagent, A or B, is pour into the mortar and mixed with thermochormic pigment. → Repeat this procedure several times until the thermochromic pigment is completely dispersed → Pour the remaining silicone A or B agent into the mortar and mix well homogeneously. 3. In Step 2, silicone oil can be added to help disperse the temperature-sensitive powder, and the amount of silicone oil added should not affect the bridging reaction of RTV or LSR 4. Mix the silicone agent A or agent B containing thermochromic pigment in step 2 with another agent to enable the bridging curing reaction. Please confirm whether the amount of bridging reagent and catalyst needs to be adjusted. 5. For mass production, three roll mill or triple roll mill is recommended to be utilised when mixing thermochromic pigment and silicon reagent A or B, instead of a mortar. 6. The bridge curing temperature of RTV or LSR silicone should never exceed 180°C ℃. 7. DCP, some organotin bridging agents and curing agents may damage the core shell of the thermochromic pigment. Once the thermochromic function fails, please replace the cross-linking agent or curing agent.
