Magic Clay Polymer (Sculpting grade)

Clay polymer is a polycaprolactone (PCL or Polymorph) based polymeric material made with special formular in oder to fit the sculpting requirement. Unlike polymer clay, which is featured as Eco friendly. It is non-toxic, non-polluting (in compliance with RoHS and REACH), halogen free, phthalate free, recyclable and unlimitedly re-formable. Clay polymer is biocompatible and biodegradable.

Regardless of the shape and particle size, even just debris, as long as heated it can be combined with the others or re-shaped. Clay polymer becomes hard automatically when cooled. Working with oven is not needed. Clay polymer is a robust material, which is at the same time odourless, tasteless, elastic and stretchy. Clay polymer is a resilient material, and at the same time elastic and stretchy. It can be shaped to all forms required and also applied to the daily life such as repair.

Extraordinary features

Designed for Handicraft DIY

Clay polymer has different composition than other polycaprolactone materials. It is specifically designed and produced for sculpting and moulding DIY and own wonderful properties:

The time period being formable is much longer and it is more easily formable, even for  kids, to DIY decorations of different size (e.g. from 1 to 2 mm to 5 to 6 cm even larger) of  decoration, handicraft, model and sculpture art, e.g. mobile phone strap, (cartoon) figure, doll, food model...etc and casting mould for materials with a melting point lower than 50oC such as RTV, cold process soap, wax, plaster...etc.

Self-Connetcing and Self-Glossy Possible

When not yet completely cooled, different clay polymer parts can be automatically connected once they getting in touch with each other. This is something special for clay polymer. Glue is possible but not essential!!

The end product has already its surface glossy, if properly prepared e.g. no finger print, and sanding, polishing and varnishing are not always necessary.

Practical Use Possible

Unlike polymer clay and mineral clay, clay polymer art work is very robust and is allowed to have more practical usage  as e.g. hanging decorations without risks getting broken. Namely clay polymer is a kind of hard plastic.

Colour creating potential

Alternative to painting on clay polymer surface, Colour mixing is possible with clay polymer of different colours, so that  you may create clay polymer of your own colours!! The specific masterbatch formula allow us present clay polymer of best colour performance.

Currently we have clay polymer of basic/ traditional colour set in 6 different colours as follow:

Special Colour Appearances

"cameleon colour changing effects" are also available ... i.e. photoluminescent, photochromic and thermochromic effects are all possible after customers' requests

I. Glow in the dark clay polymer is produced in a very special way. The glowing effect is more brilliant and lasts longer than commercially available glow in the dark polymeric products (seethe comparison below and vedio)

Duration test of Glow in the Dark effect

Our glow in the dark clay polymer owns enormously high capacity for light energy preservation. Therefore, it glows much stronger and its glowing effect lasts longer than the other glow in the dark products. Please expose our glow in the dark clay polymer with light source strong enough or sufficient duration if with weak light source to exhibit the best glow in the dark effect. Although the glowing fade gradually with time, we may still observe the glowing effect after 6.5 hours. No wonder, there is not light exposure in-between.

II. Photochromic clay polymer shows its colour in seconds after UV light exposure (sunlight). The colour performace after exposure of UV light (sunlight) is thick.

How much can our photochromic clay polymer do?

The colour thickness of our photochromic clay polymer can reflect the intensity of the UV light source, i.e. the stronger the UV light, the thicker the colour is.

Example in the figure left: The upper part of the clay polymer was diretly exposed to sunlight and the lower part in the shadow exposed to sunlight indirectly. Results: Wonderful colour gradient can be observed.

Our Lumi clay polymer has not only its colour under the light but also exhibit similar glow in the dark colour, our new invention!! Similar to glow in the dark clay polymer, its glowing effect may list hours once sufficient light energy absorbed and its glowing ability is active for long term.

8 colours are available, inclusive of white grey (glowing light blue), red, orange, yellow, green, blue, magenta and purple (s. fotos below)
