Colour Changing Masterbatch

Day

Right side heated

WOW Unlike the usual masterbatch (MB), synthesising a good colour changing MB is always challenging. Too high processing temperatures, too high shear stress from the processing equipments, and too long exposure at high temperatures, the thermochromic and photochromic pigments will decompose and lose their colour changing properties.

Our R&D team owns the unique state of art knowhow worldwide, gained from our experiences of decades, being able to synthesise MBs maximising the colour performance and the life time of the pigments and fitting all requirements of differnt kinds of further processing and production. Note extreme care should be taken when mixing with the usual pigments, very different from the usual pigment!

Kidding, bluffing? No, here are some examples (a) by comparing our own produced glow in the dark clay polymer  (s. left and right) with the glow in the dark mini bead persued in EU market (s. middle) and (b) mixed coloured thermochromic polymeric plates and sticks and (c) thermochromic yarn (4 deiner) made from our MB (click for vedio) :

How thick the colours and the glowing effect are using our colour changing MBs!

Would you like to have thicker colours or stronger glowing effect? Yes we can!!

P.S. Our colour changing masterbatch (MB) is made with a special formula to guaranty the best colour performance and colour changing effect. This means that the processing/ production parameters could be somehow different from those with the usual colour MB. It is always our pleasure to support our customers to find out the best processing/ production conditions with our special MB.

Thermochromic Masterbatch

Thermochromic masterbatch has one concentration level of thermochromic masterbatch available (22%, w/w) in the form of powder, granular and slurry. Thermochromic masterbatch is featured by becoming transparent when heated. Thermochromic temperature is selective for 9 temperatuer levels, i.e. minus 17- minus 10, minus 10 - 0, 0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60 and 60-70 ℃. It can be used in a variety of inks, paints, coatings and plastics; Wherein plastic, so long the processing temperature is below 220 ℃ and the polymer materials are transparent, our thermocrhomic masterbatch is applicable e.g. ABS、TPU、PVC、TPR、PP、PE、POE、PS… etc.

Colour changes by heating

When the temperature is higher than the assigned theromochromic temperature,  and the thermochromic colour will disappear and in parallel the original colour will be shown (right).

Multi-Stage Thermochromic Masterbatch cool!

A mixture of several different colours with different thermochromic temperature levels assigned is possible, also for the futher processing and production. Therefore, the end product may exhibit different colours at different temperature levels, a kind of thermometer similar effect.

Since the colour thickness of thermochromic pigment is less intensive than the usual pigment, carefully considering the interaction among different thermochromic colours and the colour from the plastic material is indispensable. Furthermore, significant differences of thermochromic temperatures among different colours are essential to have a clear colour changing gradient with the change of the temperature. Producing multi-stage thermochromic effect is challenging but not impossible today. If you are interested to develop your own multi-stage thermochromic project, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thermochromic Masterbatch “Yarn Special” Novel

New thermochromic masterbatch designed specifically for yarn production is immediately available!! The yarn production with thermochormic pigment now could be so smooth (also long) as that with regular colour pigments! At the same time, the colour appearance of the yarn is possible to be very intensive (please see pictures)!! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in our new thermochromic masterbatch “yarn special”.

Also, customised production of thermochormic yarn after request is available.

The physical properties of PP thermochromic yarn produced using our thermochromic masterbatch “yarn special” are as follow:

(1) The single yarn i.e. 300D/30F has its tensile force of > 0.7 kg and elongation rate is > 80%

(2) The yarn will not branch, break, loose, or fluff at all no matter formed via a 3 degree 30 and 0 degree forming tube.

Photochromic Masterbatch

Photochromic masterbatch has one concentration levels of photochromic masterbatch available (22%, w/w) in the form of powder, granular and slurry. Photochromic masterbatch is featured by changing its colour when exposed by sunlight or UV light and additionally by increasing the darkness of the colour with the increment of the exposure. It is applicable for a variety of inks, paints, coatings and plastics. Wherein plastic, so long the processing temperature is below 220 ℃ and the polymer materials are transparent, our photochromic masterbatch is applicable for e.g.: ABS、TPU、PVC、TPR、PP、PE、POE、PS… etc.

Photoluminescent Masterbatch (Glow in the dark)

Glow in the dark masterbatch has one concentration level of photoluminescent masterbatch available (70%, w/w) in the form of powder, granular and slurry. Photoluminescent masterbatch is featured by changing its colour when exposed by sunlight or UV light and additionally by increasing the darkness of the colour with the increment of the exposure. It is applicable for a variety of inks, paints, coatings and plastics. Wherein plastic, so long the processing temperature is below 260 ℃ and the polymer materials are transparent, our photophotoluminescent masterbatch is applicable for e.g.: ABS、TPU、PVC、TPR、PP、PE、POE、PS、PET… etc.

Coloured Photoluminescent Masterbatch Innovative!

(Coloured glow in the dark masterbatch) has one concentration level of coloured photoluminescent masterbatch available (70%, w/w) in the form of powder, granular and slurry. Coloured photoluminescent masterbatch will feature the corresponding products a similar colour appearance under daylight and glow in the dark colour appearance in the dark. The intensity of glow in the dark increases with the increment of the UV light and sunlight exposure. It is applicable for a variety of inks, paints, coatings and plastics. Wherein plastic, so long the polymeric materials are more or less transparent, our photophotoluminescent masterbatch is applicable for e.g.: ABS、TPU、PVC、TPR、PP、PE、POE、PS、PET、PETG… etc.
